      Class Projects

      The primary objective of the class projects is to provide class members with opportunities to develop meaningful leadership skills in real-world settings, while benefiting local non-profit organizations and ultimately preparing class members to effectively lead change in Greater Des Moines.

      2019 Project Partners

      • Community Youth ConceptsDeveloped a toolkit including marketing, legal, and construction services to bolster the long-term sustainability of the new CYC ropes course.
      • Eat Greater Des MoinesDeveloped a turn-key solution to engage new food rescue recipients in a streamlined onboarding process, which will enable Eat Greater Des Moines to expand their reach.
      • Greater Des Moines Habitat for HumanityRevamped Tool Lending Library, which provides residents with the tools they need to put sweat equity into their homes and improve their neighborhoods.
      • NAMI Greater Des MoinesDeveloped an education and engagement strategy to advance NAMI’s goal of changing the workplace conversation and approach to mental health. 
      • YMCA Supportive HousingCreated a graduate program that gives residents an opportunity to take the next step toward self-sufficiency by moving off campus with continued support.
