Dialogue 515 participants will be among the first to read and discuss the recently-updated One Economy report with Marvin DeJear, PhD, Director of the Evelyn K. Davis Center and The Directors Council board member.

Des Moines has received many positive reviews from the kinds of organizations that assess and give recognition to communities like ours. However, persistent racial disparities shift the perspective, showing Black Polk County falls short of the wider community. Join us for a discussion about the recently-updated One Economy report, originally published in 2017, which provides a snapshot of the financial stability and well-being of African Americans and Africans living in Polk County.

The report is part of the One Economy initiative, a partnership of organizations and individuals, led by The Directors Council, and designed to engage the Polk County community in activities that, sustained over time, result in expanded opportunities for increased financial capacity for African Americans and African families and businesses.

The new report has not yet been officially released. Dialogue 515 participants will be notified when the new report is available. In the meantime, please feel free to become familiar with the 2017 One Economy report.

Participation in Dialogue 515 is open to and free for 2020 alumni member donors at all levels. Light breakfast and coffee will be provided.
